چکیده

The promise of a zero failure quote (0%) through a fast and touch less inspection system [4], which can be integrated directly in the production line, has made Machine Vision Systems very popular among quality inspection and industrial automation. However, by looking in detail at the available solutions on the market, it can be notice, that most of them are based on simple image processing principles, as threshold segmentation, and the rest can only be applied for very specific tasks. Textures [1] can be defined as image region containing a pattern with specific features such as colour distribution or periodicity, e.g. a grass or wood pattern. Many tasks in the field of image processing often require texture analysis methods. Due to the characteristics of texture patterns, the processing complexity of such images is increased considerably. A general method for texture analysis has not yet been developed, so that many different approaches are used to solve very specific tasks and an uncountable variety of texture algorithms exist. These algorithms could be subdivided in statistical methods (e.g. Co-occurrence matrices, Unser and Laws texture filters), stochastic models (e.g. Autoregressive models) or frequency analysis based methods (e.g. Fourier, Gabor Filter and Wavelets). The amount of publications in the field of texture analysis is simply overwhelming. Therefore, image processing based on texture analysis has become a wide research field, which is almost impossible to be entirely overlooked. This paper proposes a knowledge-based method to manage and evaluate different texture analysis algorithms, supporting the machine vision engineer to appropriately develop an algorithmic concept for a specific application in a short time.

A New Stress Based Approach for Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis

This article demonstrates a new approach for nonlinear finite element analysis. The methodology is very suitable and gives very accurate results in linear as well as in nonlinear range of the material behavior. Proposed methodology can be regarded as stress based finite element analysis as it is required to define the stress distribution within the structural body with structural idealization a...

A Storytelling Planning Process to Transform Environmental Values into Sustainable Cities and Sustainable Behaviours

The concept of sustainability inspired most urban development plans after Rio 1992, although many such plans have not been too successful. An important reason for this is the disjuncture of science from culture and traditional knowledge and planners’ inability to conceptualize the environmental values of societies. This research aims to explore storytelling’s ability to aid in identifying of env...

Automatic classification of Non-alcoholic fatty liver using texture features from ultrasound images

Background: Accurate and early detection of non-alcoholic fatty liver, which is a major cause of chronic diseases is very important and is vital to prevent the complications associated with this disease. Ultrasound of the liver is the most common and widely performed method of diagnosing fatty liver. However, due to the low quality of ultrasound images, the need for an automatic and intelligent...

Mandibular Trabecular Bone Analysis Using Local Binary Pattern for Osteoporosis Diagnosis

Background: Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease characterized by low bone mineral density (BMD) and micro-architectural deterioration of bone tissue, leading to bone fragility and increased fracture risk. Since Panoramic image is a feasible and relatively routine imaging technique in dentistry; it could provide an opportunistic chance for screening osteoporosis. In this regard, numerous...
